Backpacking + bushcraft instruction to survive on long distance backpacking trips. The purpose of this event is to teach and train necessary skills t o be able to have a safe and fun time on the trail! It is my favorite type of training, all hands on. If you need gear I have 2 sleeping bags + 2 sleeping pads + 2 tents and 1 hammock that I can rent for an additional cost / Or I’d be happy to touch base with you to help you find very affordable gear if you want to start your own collection! Here is the scope of what this hike will look like. { Fire starting using bushcrafting techniques { Basic knots and their uses on the trail { The PCT Bear Hang { Basic natural navigation and telling time by the position of the sun in the sky { How to read and understand trail blazes { Water resupply and treatment { Evening games for fun memories! { Bonfire Q & A, you get the chance to ask me any question you can think of about hiking or my journeys at a fire you help build! **The Trek.. Meet up at the Greenwood furnace state park to jump onto the Standing Stone Trail (SST) at Mile Marker (mm) 77.2. From here we will go over gear and introductions! Then the hike is on! Woot! We will be heading north or NOBO, and will be passing the historic Charcoal hearth at mm 78.7 first! This is a really cool spot with lots of history. Next on the list is the Greenwood Fire Tower at mm 80.3. This is the highest spot on the SST! Then we get one more View Point at mm 81 before getting to our campsite at mm 83.9! Giving us a grand total of 6.7 miles and then 6.7 miles out! Bring swim trunks because there is a great lake to swim in upon returning to the park!

I am a wild free roaming adventurer! I live and breath adventure everyday! From my day to day on the homestead to traveling the world vlogging about the trails and amazing people I meet on them! I am always 10 billion % ready to take that next journey and share it with others who truly want to explore their own wanderlust! I have been backpacking for 3 years now doing everything from overnight camping to 2 months on trail. But wilderness has been running in my blood since I was a kid doing week long camping trips with my family. About 2 years ago I started doing guided trips to places like Glacier National park and sections of the Appalachian Trail (AT) as well as basic survival bushcraft clinics. I love teaching the skills to equip people to be confident when they go out on long distance backpacking or just overnights. But I want to do it in a way that is both fun and engaging. Learning on the trail is the best way to see all these skills in action and get to use them yourself to help them stick in your memory. My current backpacking experience as of now! 500 miles on AT, Harpers Ferry to Kent, Connecticut ll 330 miles on Mid State trail ll 290 miles on Benton Mackaye trail ll *upcoming 2024 84 miles on Standing Stone trail ll 271 miles on Vermont Long Trail ll 232 miles on New England Trail ll I'm a simple, fun loving "hiker trash" sort of guy, so you can be sure that I'll be 100% genuine and real. No BS or "I'm better than you" here! Please feel free to reach out to me if you want a custom guided adventure(prices will vary depending on your needs)!
